Manuka Honey
Hauora Life Mānuka Honey starts with the mānuka plant (Leptospermum Scoparium), it is a small prickly shrub or small tree with tiny leaves and small pinkish, red-centred flowers. The mānuka plant flowers throughout the year but peaks in the late spring and early summer in New Zealand.
When the plants are in flower, the bees collect and take the sweet nectar back to the hives. The honey is collected from the hives by our beekeepers and packaged for your convenience.
Mānuka honey’s colour can range from dark cream to dark brown. It has a strong flavour characterised as "earthy, herbaceous”, and "florid, rich and complex”.
Mānuka Honey is the queen of New Zealand honeys, well known both domestically and internationally.
